My review:

We can all testify that the weather affects our moods - when the sunshine gives us a much needed boost and overcast, damp, grey days can leave us low and listless. What a clever idea, then, for a wonderful new children's book, set in the Shetland Isles, where the weather is magic!

Stella is forced to spend her summer with her grandfather as her parents have to work away. She used to love it here in Shetland but she misses her parents and her grandfather isn't the same since her gran died.

Then Stella meets Tamar and things may never be the same again.

She finds that Tamar can spin rainbows and call up hurricanes, and that your mood can affect the weather - thunderstorms and sunshine result!

Stella is introduced to Nimbus, her very own cloud who may be just the help she needs as she and Tamar contend with a sinister threat from Haken, a sea witch.

This is an ingenious, charming and uplifting cross-generational adventure for readers aged eight up.
