Chloe has arrived at university with her own agenda.

Not only has she signed up to a secret research programme being run by the psychology department, investigating young psychopaths, but she is also seeking out a fellow student in order to gain restitution and revenge.

When a number of murders start to take place on campus, suspicion immediately turns to the individuals involved in the university study. Their identities aren't known, however, so the police and also Chloe, have to act quickly to prevent more deaths. Though, all the while, Chloe is still pursuing Will Buchanan whom she has vowed to kill in a few days' time.

This is a gripping and entertaining debut thriller.

I had my reservations in picking it up. I didn't want to engage with a psychopath's urge to punish and kill.

However, I was sucked in. Chloe is an engaging character. The plot has moments of wry humour, and there is a moral stance, too. Chloe has been wronged years earlier and it is this event which motivates her actions - though these are still not to be supported or endorsed!
