Anna Pavord in conversation
Although Anna Pavord was the gardening correspondent for 'The Observer' and 'The Independent' for many years, 'The Tulip' is not a gardening book.
It is the story of a flower that has driven men mad. Greed, desire, anguish and devotion have all played their part in the development of the tulip from a wild flower on the Asian steppes to the worldwide phenomenon that it is today, influencing society, religion, politics, economics along the way. This book is extraordinary and Anna will be revisiting the six years she spent researching it in this illustrated talk.
Anna will be in person at The Cut, talking about her time as a gardening correspondent, the author of a dozen books, and a gardener.
Seating will be organised around bubbles or households with distancing in place, and the audience will be able to book advance tickets for the theatre or receive a link for the livestream. Details here.
