My review:

Mouse and Mole have been together a little while - this is the fifth book of adventures for younger readers of 3 upwards. But this is the first time I've met them, and they're rather lovely!

There are three stories here, told with a charming, gentle and wry humour, with beautifully warm and nostalgic illustrations.

Mole has woken from a dream where he discovered the secret of happiness. Just as he's about to share this revelation with Mouse, he realises he's forgotten it and spends the rest of the day trying to remember. Will it come back to him?

It's a new day and Mole decides to go for a walk, but Mouse keeps sending him on strange and fruitless errands. Should his walk be full of purpose, or can't he enjoy a carefree wander?

Then Mouse and Mole settle down for a good read, but Mole can't sit still and is constantly distracting his friend. How will they resolve this latest clash in domestic life?!

There's a wonderful depth to the issues facing Mouse and Mole in their everyday activities and these books are likely to delight time and again, and across the generations! Beautiful.
