The central character of this adventure is Amaryllis, a boy who has been given this name by his father. It does lead to some issues for him!

Amaryllis has decided that he'd like everyone to call him Mali. He hopes it will mean less teasing and, as he longs for the attention to move elsewhere, he concentrates on his friendship with a classmate who also rues his parents' choice of names.

But Mali is chosen to be one of four pupils to meet in the school library for a book group project. None of them are friends and in fact, one boy is Mali's nemesis.

At their first meeting it's clear that this is going to be difficult - even the teacher in charge of the group is distracted. And it's raining outside. 

It turns out that this is more than a cloudburst. This is storm of cataclismic proportions and the children and their teacher become trapped in the library. Outside they can see flood waters rising, the doors are all jammed shut and their phones and internet access is down. 

Their plight causes your heart to race but, as they try to find a way out of their situation, the children rise to the challenge. Their previous grievances against each other diminish, they display inner strengths and they forge what will come to be a lasting, deep bond. A gripping read!
