My review:

Aimed at children aged three upwards, this is a magical adventure, beautifully illustrated with energy and warmth.

Ali lives on an island, in a busy fishing village. Her dad is a fisherman and when he's out at sea, Ali loves exploring. On these adventures, she hunts for caterpillars hidden in the leaves, watches the seals sleeping in the caves on the seashore, and enjoys hearing the seagulls squawking above the fishing boats.

In the evenings, before bed, Ali and her dad enjoy chatting about the day, but she'd really like her dad to join her on one of her adventures. Like everyone else on the island, he's too busy to spend the day with Ali.

But suddenly, one day, all the fish disappear from the sea, and Ali and her dad are forced into undertaking a mission to solve the mystery, together. Does it have something to do with the magical creature Ali has discovered? And what can Ali, her dad and all the villagers learn about their environment and choosing to make time for what's important in life?
