Lovers of Charlotte Bronte's classic novel will not fail to be delighted by this clever, quirky board book, teaching children numbers 1 to 10.

My review:

Subdued colours, modern, attractive illustrations and a wry take on the classic story providing the subjects for the numbers in this 'counting primer' will cause adults to smile, though might bemuse the young child. Number 1 is a governess, then 2 trunks, 3 candles ("it is always dangerous to keep a candle lit at night") 4 towers (of Thornfield Hall) and so on, concluding with 10 books.

This is one of a series of titles, which also feature 'Moby Dick', 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Dracula', which are called BabyLit - "a fashionable way to introduce your child to the world of classic literature", published in the USA.

They're great fun!
