Natalie Meg Evans talks hats - Event Report

Booklovers in Woodbridge dusted off their berets, boaters and bonnets for a talk by novelist Natalie Meg Evans in Browsers Bookshop.

The author, Natalie Meg Evans (left), had researched hats and hat-making, and Paris in the war, for her new book ‘The Milliner’s Secret’ and shared what she learned, as well as revealing her career to date and the reception for first novel ’The Dress Thief’.

Guests were invited to come along wearing a hat and the town’s charity shops had organised special displays to encourage sales for the occasion. The best hat on the evening was awarded a Browsers Bookshop goody bag.

Included in the evening’s ticket price of £8, guests received a glass of Prosecco on arrival and a copy of Natalie’s book to take away.

Some people arrived wearing their hats. One guest brought her hat along in its very own hat box!

Natalie’s first book 'The Dress Thief' received a great response. It was the winner of the 2014 Festival of Romantic Fiction's Best Historical Read and was shortlisted for the 2015 Romance Writers of America RITA award. Natalie lives not far away, near Halesworth, Suffolk.
