This was the book I chose to while away the hours on a long train journey recently. I don't think I've read any Peter James before but was interesed to read about him recently - his books are enjoyed by the police and also Queen Camilla, he says! But perhaps I should have looked closer into this title ahead of my journey as I didn't realise it begins with a train derailment. 

Her Majesty, Queen Camilla, is aboard the Royal Train heading to a charity event in Sussex when disaster strikes. An obstacle on the track causes the train to derail in a tunnel. The shocked passengers are urged to make their way carefuly along the track, out into daylight, but it seems they are walking into further danger. 

Though it looks like this was an attempted assassination of the Queen, our trusted detective, Roy Grace believes not. 

He has to convince his colleagues and the Palace itself, however. And the stakes are raised when there is a second murder. He needs to act fast and true or the killer in the Palace may strike again.

A very enjoyable thriller that certainly held my attention and turning the pages. I liked the idea of a real life setting, but I'm not sure a couple of the characters rang true for me! Very enjoyable.
