Follow the leader
by Harriet Howe and illustrated by Ariel Landy

This is the third book by Suffolk writer Harriet Howe. They've been published in quick succession and all are quite distinct, with different illustrators, and are very lovely.

Do take a look at 'Tiger's Last Roar' and 'The Street Where Santa Lives'.

In this story, illustrated by Ariel Landy, we meet Monkey, Bear and Armadillo who are eager to escape the heat of the jungle by diving into the cool, sparkling lake.

It's not too far away but what's the best route? who's got the map? who should lead the way?

There are lots of mishaps, and various disagreements over who is best equipped to make decisions for their journey.

It's told in rhyming text, with punchlines often delivered as you turn the page. It's fun and full of energy, with a great message about leadership and teamwork.
