I haven't read others in the Matthew Venn series. Instead I've remained dabbling in Shetland and with Vera. But I was hooked on this murder mystery and look forward to reading more of his investigations!

A young woman's body has been found in the swimming pool of a holiday home in North Devon, and her friend is missing. 

They had come home from a music festival the day before, which had attracted locals and visitors alike. 

The property belongs to politician Paul Armstrong. Does his celebrity status have something to do with the death? Does he have more connections to the local community than at first appeared?

Venn has to unpick what he's told, to reveal the secrets that are being hidden. A great read.
