We meet Sonia and Sunny in America, leading independent lives trying to fit into the society and culture having made the decision to leave India, family and their heritage.

Both are in relationships which challenge their identities and their backgrounds. 

Forced for different reasons to return to their families, these two young people are confronted by different challenges. The influence of their American lives and careers impact as they try to address the issues with their parents. Do they not fit in either culture or society?

And will Sonia and Sunny ever find each other? Their families had arranged their marriage, but they fought against it. Perhaps they really are meant to be together?

I very much enjoyed it but it is long and I don't feel I've processed all the elements encompassed in it. I loved the opening chapters of life in the US, and I wept at the poignancy of the ending. There's everything here.
