Rafa is one of a small group of children taken by their teacher on a school trip to visit a Shakespeare theatre but when they arrive it's been closed and used as a film set.

Instead of going home disappointed, Mrs Greenwood decides to take the children inside anyway, and so begins an amazing adventure.

Rafa becomes a body double for the lead actress, 11-year-old BB and when their mobile phones are swapped, their lives become intertwined, so that Rafa, his teacher and school friends end up in Hollywood at the Oscar ceremony!

It's a wild story which is believable and fantastical at the same time. There's plenty of humour, asides about grammar and life on a film set, and examples of resilience, good nature and resourcefulness. 

Frank Cottrell-Boyce is such a wonderful writer because he brings such joy, hope and wisdom to his writing. There's a lovely author's note at the end of the book, too, where he shares something of his own experience of being on film sets. He particularly enjoys meeting people whose Job You Never Heard Of. For example the people who teach actors on tv's 'Doctor Who' how to be scary scarecrows, and the woman who looked after the delivery owns on the film of 'Harry Potter'.
