Bodger, Billy and Betty were very good dogs who liked to do good deeds.

Whenever they go out for a walk in their neighbourhood, they are on the lookout for people who might need some help.

But whether it's an old lady with her shopping, a man on a ladder or a little girl hanging out the washing, Bodger, Billy and Betty's good intentions actually cause mayhem.

One day, despondently making their way home, they hear cries of 'help!' as they approach the river. A kitten is adrift in a saucepan(?!). Without hesitation, the three dogs dive in. Will their efforts achieve the right result this time?

It's a lovely story with just the right amount of repetition, and the cry of 'Calamity' is sure to bring delight in bedtime readings.

But the illustrations are fantastic! The colour palette is beautiful, the dogs and people are fabulous, and the detail in the abundance of flowers, vegetables and fabrics in the full page pictures is wonderful. I love it!
