A lone wolf stumbles across a red bear, frozen and lost in the snowy forest.

The wolf, called Sylvester, decides to name the bear Poppy. With some care and kindness from the wolf, she thaws out and comes to life, becoming just like him.

Sylvester is delighted to have a companion so takes Poppy fishing, climbing and sledging. They have great fun. Until one day they hear a new sound...Humans, who threaten their new-found happiness.

Except the father and his young daughter offer Sylvester and Poppy a different future. Poppy is the little girl's long lost teddy bear, and Sylvester is her father's long lost cuddly wolf. 

This is a quirky tale. It boasts nostalgic illustrations and a heartwarming and amusing story which initially puzzles but then forges a delightful conclusion. Lovely.
