This is another lovely picture book from local writer Harriet Howe, working this time with illustrator Katie Cottle.

Little Wolf has always enjoyed spending time with Daddy Wolf on their trips camping out in the wild. But this time their plans to see the Wolf Moon rise are rather different. They are going to have company.

With all the noise, activity and distractions of his little brothers and sisters, Little Wolf gets increasingly more tense. He starts to huff and puff and...he blows his top.

Daddy Wolf has to have words. He takes Little Wolf aside and shows him how to manage his frustration and anger with some breathing exercises! 

And once Little Wolf has calmed down, he looks at things differently and helps the pups make a den. 

It's been a long day and before long, the pups are fast asleep leaving Little Wolf and Daddy Wolf all alone to enjoy the Wolf Moon together as always.

This is a fun and quirky tale drawing on familiar fairy tales alongside a message about managing big emotions. The illustrations are busy and colourful, and you have to keep your wits about you to follow the story as the pages don't always appear in the way you expect. Fun for children aged three upwards.
